14 kt. yellow gold, glazed nickel damascene movement, one-half plate, exceptional barrel, lever escapement, micrometer adjustments, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds at III, up-down indicator at IX, polish case, coin and engraved edge, case no. 33587, dial and movement signed. Diameter 52 mm.
In 1854 George P. Reed was employed by Dennison, Howard & Davis of Waltham, Massachusetts. He invented and patented his mainspring barrel. In 1865 he went into business for himself. His total output was about 350 watches.
