As with other drawings in this story, the first drawing of Number Nine reaching for a railing was altered to conform to the edited text in Chapter 4, and the frozen railing whitened out as per the instructions on the sheet. The second drawing, originally intended for a dropped chapter, was placed in Chapter Five.
