White silk scarf with a design of black squares belonging to John Barrymore
. Given to Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. upon the occasion of his ninetieth birthday, accompanied by an attestation by Elaine Barrie Barrymore as to its authenticity. Fine condition.
As noted in Fairbanks's letter of thanks (copy included), the loosely tied scarf was often identified with Barrymore's idiosyncratic style of dress.
