Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Passed by the General Court: begun and holden at Boston, in the county of Suffolk, on Wednesday the twenty-seventh of May, anno domini, 1789. Volume II
. Boston: Adams and Nourse, 1789 [-96]. With general title, pp. 1-32, this Evans 21944; the subsequent volumes contain the continuation of the work from pp. 33-582 (completing the work with the laws of Jan. 1796, the final imprint Evans 30756). Bound in several volumes, each a folio, sizes vary, largest approximately 13 1/2 x 8 inches (34 x 20 cm). The first volume with original wrappers bound in, two sections present in duplicate, stamps, markings and some wear, some volumes uncut. See also Sabin 45570; Together with Volume III. [Boston: Young & Minns, 1796-1802]. This run lacking its General title and paginated 3-584, this work Evans 30757; And seven related volumes of Acts & Laws through 1805. Stamps, markings and some wear but generally clean, the lot not fully collated and sold as is.
Long runs of the laws of Federal Massachusetts, including a complete set of Volume II from 1784-89, which would be difficult to assemble in individual parts such as issued. The lot twenty-two volumes.
