The present model is based on the original, unlocated sculpture carved by Zorach in either mahogany or walnut in 1927. It depicts a Maine cat and is similar to other sculptures by Zorach from this period which depict the family cat, Tooky.

Dust and dirt in crevasses. Small area of oxidation on the back of the cat's head. Several hairline scratches on the back of the cat's head; may have been intentionally done by the artist to convey pieces of fur.
