The oval box carved of semi-translucent agate, the lid and sides embellished in stone and lacquer with figures in a wooden boat amid blossoming lotus below a willow tree and flying birds, the sides with further birds in flight amid billowing clouds, the stone a light buff tone, the base with an applied seal mark. Length 3 3/4 inches.
