A large group of items comprising personal items: Nureyev's distinctive wide-brimmed hat, gifted to Van Vooren by Nureyev, worn; Nureyev's large red bath towel embroidered "Rudolf", gifted to Van Vooren by Nureyev. Signed items: an 11 x 8 inches program sheet from Marguerite and Armand inscribed by Nureyev "To Monique with love from Rudolf Nureyev", framed; Alexander Bland's 1976 The Nureyev Image inscribed by Nureyev to Van Vooren with a large bold signature, dust jacket worn, spotting and toning; an original signed painting by Henri Martinez depicting Nureyev, dated 1970, with a faded inscription on the mat possibly in Nureyev's hand, the image 12 x 10 inches, framed, mat stained; three books on Nureyev including the 1995 auction catalogue of his estate, worn; a large poster indistinctly signed and inscribed in 1977 to Monique Van Vooren, 30 x 22 inches; a collage made from various images of Nureyev, a ticket stub from 1967, etc; and about ten photographs each depicting Nureyev, a few with Van Vooren or others, includes original and copy prints, each framed, some visible wear and stains.

The close friendship between between Monique Van Vooren and Rudolf Nureyev is well-known and was described by Andy Warhol in Exposures: "Monique's best friend is Rudolf Nureyev. He stays at her place whenever he's in town. Monique is so devoted to him that she gives up her bed under the mirror and sleeps on the sofa in the library. Monique would do anything for Nureyev." (Andy Warhol, Exposures, 1979, p. 176.)
