The 1805 signature of Alexander Hamilton's sons Alexander and John in a book from their library.
This is volume II only of John Pinkerton's Modern Geography (Philadelphia: 1804), in full contemporary calf with a red morocco lettering label, the title page signed "John C. Hamilton" in pencil and signed "Alexander Hamilton/Novm. 10 1805/New York." 9 x 5 1/2 inches (23 x 14 cm); 698 pp. Joint cracked, extremities rubbed and with small losses, repair to leather on upper cover, title page with toning to extremities and one faint old spot.

A volume from the Hamilton family library, signed by two of Alexander Hamilton's young sons in November 1805, less than a year and a half following the death of their father in the duel with Burr.
