Group photograph of the 1957-1962 Warren Court taken by Fabian Bachrach. Undated, gelatin silver print dry-mounted to card, overall size (including margins) 14 1/2 x 15 3/4 inches (36.5 x 40 cm), signed below the image on the mount by all the members of the Warren Court: Earl Warren, Hugo Black, William O. Douglas, Charles Evans Whitaker, J.M. Harlan II, William J. Brennan, Potter Stewart, Tom V. Clark and Felix Frankfurter. Minor fading to a few signatures, but overall in very good condition; Together with a photograph of Arthur B. Krim with five members of the Supreme Court. Undated, gelatin silver print, 10 1/2 x 15 3/4 inches (26.5 x 34 cm), signed in white on the image by (from left to right): Stanley Forman Reed, William Brennan, Tom C. Clark (dated 10/10/60), Hugo Black and William O. Douglas. Minor toning.
Of the first item, a small number of these signed photographs were prepared for the Supreme Court, many of which were given to fellow judges. The second photograph shows five Supreme Court justices in an informal social setting, and is likely unique, at least in inscribed form.
