Five typed letters signed to Judge Alphonse T. Clearwater. Five letters, each signed "WH Taft," three dated 1916-17 and are on Taft's personal stationery, two are dated 1929 and are on differing examples of Taft's Supreme Court stationery. Largest 10 1/2 x 8 inches (27 x 20 cm), most smaller. Usual folds, generally fine, a few scuffs, creases and one short tear.
