Published May 1936" on the copyright leaf, in the first state jacket with the $3 price and the book listed on the second line of the right hand column of the Spring Novels list. Publisher's gray cloth in dust jacket. 8 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches (22 x 15 cm); 1037 pp. Jacket unrestored, very minor wear and tiny tears to extremities, the cloth fresh, in all an exceptionally nice copy, and uncommon thus.
A surprisingly fresh copy in an unrestored jacket of Mitchell's Civil War-era classic. When made into a film in 1939 starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh, Gone with the Wind was awarded eight Oscars including Best Picture.
