New York: MacMillan, 1936. First edition, first printing with "Set up and electrotyped. Published May 1936" on the copyright leaf, in the second state jacket with the $3 price (stamped) and the book listed on the first line of the left hand column of the New Macmillan Books list. Publisher's gray cloth in dust jacket. 8 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches (22 x 15 cm); 1037 pp. Jacket unrestored, very minor wear and tiny tears to extremities, the cloth fresh, upper corner of the boards a bit bumped, some minor creasing to the text in the margin resulting from this.
A very clean copy in an unrestored jacket of Mitchell's Civil War-era classic. When made into a film in 1939 starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh, Gone with the Wind was awarded eight Oscars including Best Picture.
