The Battle of Friedland, a major engagement in Napoleon's war aginst the Russian Empire, took place on June 14, 1807. Fought on both sides of the Alle River in East Prussia, the battle was a decisive victory for Napoleon, as it forced Alexander I of Russia to agree to the terms of the Treaty of Tilsit.
