Lot 13Good Ivory-Mounted Painted and Embroidered Silk Export Fan in Lacquerd Box
Third quarter of the 19th century
The ivory end sticks are elaborately and deeply carved with figures, buildings and landscapes; the fan itself is painted with multiple figures in a garden setting on one side and on the other it is embroidered with birds and flowers. The lacquered case is fitted with a silk liner painted with partridge and flowers and a fitted interior with hinged glass cover. Length of fan 10 7/8 inches (27.8 cm).
